Villain’s weaknesses are limited in Pokémon Scarlet and Purple, mainly due to the fact that it is a rare Dual Pokémon Grass and Fire.

Due to coverage, both types provide against their weaknesses given, makes most types of attacks cause standard damage. As a result, the only three types of attacks that can inflict super effective damage to Villain are flying type movements, poison type movements and rock type movements.

As such, we recommend using a Pokémon that resists or at least suffers neutral herb and fire damage, but that has an offensive movement of flying type, poison or rock that you have learned on your own or that has taught you a TM. For example, Clod sire would receive neutral damage from fire-type attacks and Villain grass due to its double earth and poison type and could inflict super effective blows through their venom type movements such as Poison Jab.
